    As at 31 December 2014, credit card loans by FDIC-insured banks in the US stood at USD$718.47 billion compares to USD$691.39 billion a year ago, representing a 3.92% increased in 12 months period. Credit card loans representing about 51% of the total loans to individual.     As at 30 September 2015, total outstanding home mortgage in the US stood at USD$11.011 trillion compares to USD$10.829 trillion same period a year ago, representing a 1.68% increased in 12 months period. The USD$11.011 trillion is made up of two type of properties, USD$9.952 trillion for 1 to 4 family residences and USD$$1,059.177 billion for multifamily residences.

    In 2013, 871,801 payday loans amounted to USD$331,430,078 were made at Washington by 231,868 customers. Whereas in Colorado, 481,122 payday loans amounted to USD$189,125,729 were made by 259,000 customers in 2013



  • As at 31 December 2015, there are USD$57.896 billions outstanding credit card loans for Discover Card. USD$31.672 billions is generated for Discover card sales in Quarter 4, 2015(October, November and December), a 2.59% increase compares to the same quarter a year ago.

    As at 31 December 2015, there are 192 millions MasterCard credit and charge cards in the United States, generating USD$181 billions(USD$174 billions for purchases and USD$7 billions for cash advances) for Quarter 4, 2015(October, November and December). There are 588 million MasterCard credit and charge cards outside the U.S. as at 31 December 2015, generating USD$456 billions(USD$417 billions for purchases and USD$39 billions for cash advances) for Q4, 2015.

    As at 31 December 2015, there are 57.6 millions American Express cards in the United States, with total card billed business(including cash advances) of USD$189.9 billions for Quarter 4, 2015(October, November and December). There are 60.2 million American Express cards outside the U.S. as at 31 December 2015, generating USD$83.3 billions total card billed business for Q4, 2015.

    As at 30 September 2015, there are 329 millions Visa credit cards in the United States. USD$372 billions(USD$358 billions for purchases and USD$14 billions for cash advances) is generated for Quarter 4, 2015(October, November and December) in the United States. There are 558 million Visa credit cards outside the U.S. as at 30 September 2015. USD$504 billions(USD$470 for purchases and USD$34 for cash advances) is generated in Quarter 4, 2015 for the rest of the world.



  • As at 30 November 2015, Canada outstanding credit card balances stood at CAD$77.290 billion, an increase of 0.97% or CAD$740 million compares to CAD$76.550 billion a month ago.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Canada decrease by 5.60% to 76,581,340. However, the total card spending for 12 months ended 31 December 2014 in Canada up by 7.70% to CAD$403.70 billions, with 8.87% increase in number of card transactions.

    As at 31 October 2014, the number of visa and mastercard in Canada decrease by 5.64% to 72.0 millions. The total visa and mastercard spending for 12 months ending 31 October 2014 in Canada up by 7.54% to CAD$399.23 billions, with 8.28% increase in number of card transactions.



Asia and Oceania

  • As at 30 November 2015, the number of credit cards in Singapore stood at 8,095,569 for main cardholders and 1,495,743 for supplementary cardholders with S$29.6 million bad debts are written off in the month.

    As at 31 December 2014, there are 8,183,105 main cardholders in Singapore, an increase of 2.49% in 12 months period. Whereas supplementary cardholders decrease by 1.27% to 1,553,963. For the twelve months ended 31 December 2014, total card billings amounted to S$44.5824 billion.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the number of credit cards in Thailand stood at 21,592,128, with 39.171 millions transactions amounting to THB151 billions recorded in the month of November.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Thailand increase by 9.46% to 20,303,751. And the total credit cards spending for 2014 in Thailand continue to rise by 6.69% to THB1,626 billions.



  • As at 31 December 2015, there are 22.75 millions credit cards in India. The total credit cards spending for December 2015 in India is INR214.60 billions, out of 69.85 millions transactions.
    For the 9 months ended 30th September 2015, a total of 538.96 millions transactions is recorded with total value of INR1,653.26 billions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in India increase by 8.94% to 20.36 million. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in India up by 24.49% to INR1,827.73 billions, with 21.44% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, there are 16,258,504 cardholders in Australia, with 204,360,374 transactions amounting to A$26.45 billion recorded in the month.

  • As at 30 September 2015, the number of credit cards in Malaysia stood at 7,522,393 for main cardholders and 972,097 for supplementary cardholders, with 29.73 million transactions amounting to MYR$9.13 billion recorded in the month.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Malaysia increase by 0.40% to 8,127,514. And the total credit cards spending for 2014 in Malaysia continue to rise by 5.82% to MYR$105.5 billions, out of 345.9 millions transactions.



  • As at 30 September 2015, there are 17,203,000 credit cards in Hong Kong, an increase of 66,000 or 0.39% in 9 months period(compares to 17,137,000 as at 31 December 2014). The rollover amount stood at HKD$19,417 millions as at 30 September 2015.

    The number of credit cards in Hong Kong increase by 2.08% or 347,000 to 17,037,000 as at 31 December 2014, compares to the same period a year ago. The charge-off amount increase by 4.98% for 12 months ended 2014.



  • As at 31 December 2015, there are 38,518,206 credit cards in Taiwan, however only 25,357,316 cards are active. A total of 430,506 cards is issued in the month of December 2015. The total credit cards spending for December 2015 in Taiwan is NT$206.93 billion, made up of NT$204.29 billion in purchases and NT$2.64 billion in cash advance.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Taiwan increase by 4.02% to 37,389,298, compares to the same period a year ago. Total credit cards spending for 2014 in Taiwan is NT$2.068 trillions.



  • As at 31 October 2015, there are 92,966,000 credit cards in South Korea, made up of 85,572,000 personal credit cards and 7,395,000 corporate credit cards. For the month of October 2015, 865,834,000 transactions recorded with a total value of KRW54.684934 trillions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in South Korea decrease by 9.51% to 92,321,000. Personal credit cards decrease by 10.27% while corporate credit card increase by 1.03%. A total of KRW581.96 trillions credit cards spending recorded in 2014, out of 8.86 billions transactions.



  • For the month of November 2015, JPY3.79 trillion credit card transactions recorded in Japan(JPY3.63 trillion for purchases and JPY0.16 trillion for cash advances).

    As at 31 March 2014, the number of credit cards in Japan increase by 2.86% to 267.22 millions. The total credit card transactions for 2014 increased by 10.72% to JPY46.27 trillions.



  • As at 31 December 2015, outstanding credit card balances in New Zealand stood at NZD$6.718 billion(an increase of NZD$113 million or 1.71% compares to NZD$6.605 billion as at end of November 2015). Total billings for New Zealand issued cards for December 2015 is NZD$3.762 billion.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in New Zealand decrease by 2.56% to 2,608,147. A total of 334,048,524 credit card transactions recorded in 2014 with NZ$36,080 millions in value.



  • As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in China increase by 16.45% to 455.0950 million. The total payment cards(credit and debit cards) spending for 2014 in China up by 33.15% to CNY42,384 billions, with 52.30% increase in number of card transactions.



Europe

  • As at 30 September 2015, there are 6,177,000 credit and charge cards in Norway. 55.790 million transactions is recorded in Quarter 3, 2015(July, August and September), generating NOK39.920 billions.

    The number of payment cards in Norway increase by 1,072,000 or 8.49% to 13,698,000 as at 31st December 2014, compares to the same period a year ago. The payment cards usage in Norway increased by 7.64% in volume and 7.37% in value.

    As at 31st December 2014, there are 5,504,000 cards with credit function in Norway, an increase of 450,000 or 8.91% compares to 5,054,000 to the end of 2013. For the 12 months ended 31 December 2014, a total of NOK118.9 billions recorded from 159 millions credit card transactions.

    As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Norway stood at NOK65,026 million, an increase of NOK692 millions or 1.08% compares to NOK64,334 millions as at 31 October 2015.



  • As at 30 November 2015, there are 59.863 millions credit cards in the United Kingdom, with outstanding balances of £60.276 billions. The total credit cards spending for November 2015 in UK is £13.164 billions, out of 241.943 millions transactions. There are 493,000 balance transfer transactions amounted to £1,100 millions recorded in November 2015.

    Credit cards fraud in United Kingdom for 2014 increase by 6.35% to £479.0m, 68.62% or £328.7m of card fraud is committed in UK, while £150.3m or 31.38% is committed abroad.   • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Germany stood at €176,131 millions, a decrease by €744 millions or 0.42% compares to €176,875 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Germany increase significantly by 25.55% to 4,899,140. The total cards spending for 2014 in Germany rised significantly by 36.85% to €6.09 billions, with an equally significant 39.17% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Netherlands stood at €20,449 millions, a decrease by €55 millions or 0.27% compares to €20,504 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 30 September 2015, there are 6,520,472 cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Netherlands. In the 3rd Quarter 2015, 40.278 millions credit card transactions recorded, generating €3.622 billions in total spending. For the 9 months ended 30 September 2015, 105.68 millions transactions recorded, generating €10.117 billions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Netherlands increase by 7.20% to 6,388,870. The total cards(with a credit and/or delayed debit function) spending for 2014 in Netherlands rised by 6.70% to €12.10 billions, with 8.27% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 31 December 2015, there are 21,816,000 convenience credit cards and extended credit cards in Sweden(304,000 or 1.41% more compares to 21,512,000 as at end of November 2015), with the outstanding balance stood at SEK64.340 billions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Sweden decrease by 9.27% to 5,216,000. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Sweden continue to rise by 2.53% to €8.92 billions(out of 144.52 millions transactions).

    As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Sweden stood at €20,250 millions, an increase by €201 millions or 1.00% compares to €20,049 millions as at 31 October 2015.



  • As at 30 September 2015, there are 44.37 millions credit cards in Spain, an increase of 0.73 millions or 1.67% compares to 43.64 millions as at 30 June 2015. For the 3 months ended 30 September 2015, 694.062 millions payment card transactions(credit and debit cards) recorded at point of sales, with a total value of €29,429.51 millions.

    As at 31 December 2014, there are 43.24 millions credit cards in Spain, a decrease of 0.05% or 0.02 millions compares to 43.26 millions as at 31 December 2013. For the 12 months ended 31 December 2014, 2,502.611 millions payment card transactions(credit and debit cards) recorded at point of sales, with a total value of €105,854.26 millions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Spain increase by 0.72% to 43,577,010. The total cards(with a credit and/or delayed debit function) spending for 2014 in Spain increase by 8.50% to €65.71 billions, with 4.77% increase in number of card transactions.

    As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Spain stood at €60,865 millions, an increase by €1,216 millions or 2.04% compares to €59,649 millions as at October 2015.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Belgium stood at €8,177 millions, a decrease by €79 millions or 0.96% compares to €8,256 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, there are 2,102,090 credit cards in Belgium. The total credit cards spending in Belgium for 2014 is €270 million, out of 2.18 millions transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Finland stood at €14,061 millions, an increase by €21 millions or 0.15% compares to at €14,040 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, there are 1,730,020 credit cards in Finland. The total credit cards spending in Finland for 2014 is €2.75 billions, out of 49.87 millions transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in France stood at €152,190 millions, a decrease by €564 millions or 0.37% compares to €152,754 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, there are 6,943,180 credit cards in France, generating €5.54 billions from 85.40 millions credit card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Italy stood at €80,905 millions, an increase by €410 millions or 0.51% compares to €80,495 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Italy decrease by 3.50% to 26,605,930. The total cards(with a credit and/or delayed debit function) spending for 2014 in Italy increase by 6.02% to €53.91 billions, with 9.62% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Denmark stood at €14,903 millions, a decrease by €113 millions or 0.75% compares to €15,016 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    For the 6 months ended 30 June 2015(from 1 January 2015 to 30 June 2015), 25.0 millions credit card transactions recorded in Denmark, generating DKK17.959 billions in total spending.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Denmark increase by 1.85% to 1,800,890. The total cards spending for 2014 in Denmark increase by 7.79% to €4.58 billions, with 7.57% increase recorded in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Poland stood at €33,853 millions, an increase by €70 millions or 0.21% compares to €33,853 millions as at 31 October 2015.

  • As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Poland decrease by 1.49%% to 6,042,000. However, the total cards spending for 2014 in Poland rise by 6.43% to €7.45 billions, with 12.24% increase recorded in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Austria stood at €20,214 millions, an increase by €38 millions or 0.19% compares to €20,176 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Austria increase by 2.07% to 1,417,770. The total cards spending for 2014 in Austria rised by 5.99% to €5.31 billions, with 25.31% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, there are 6,185,370 cardholders in Switzerland, with 25,689,000 transactions amounting to CHF$2.897 billion recorded in the month.

  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Hungary stood at €8,639 millions, a decrease by €153 millions or 1.74% compares to €8,792 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Hungary increase by 3.06% to 1,392,370. The total cards spending for 2014 in Hungary rise by 18.64% to €1.40 billions, with 31.86% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Czech Republic stood at €7,849 millions, no changes compares €7,849 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Czech Republic decrease by 1.54% to 1,584,860. However, the total credit cards spending for 2014 in Czech Republic rise by 13.79% to €1.98 billions, with 29.25% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Latvia stood at €461 millions, a decrease by €2 millions or 0.43% compares to €461 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Latvia increase by 0.84% to 343,690. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Latvia up by 33.33% to €0.60 billions, with 44.50% increase in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Portugal stood at €12,015 millions, an increase by €47 millions or 0.39% compares to €11,968 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of cards with a credit and/or delayed debit function in Portugal decrease by 8.73% to 7,751,780. The total cards credit and/or delayed debit function spending for 2014 in Portugal decrease by 12.64% to €3.87 billions, with 17.12% decrease in number of card transactions.



  • As at 30 November 2015, the consumer credit(credit cards and personal loans) outstanding balance in Ireland stood at €11,456 millions, a decrease by €2 millions or 0.02% compares to €11,458 millions as at 31 October 2015.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Ireland decrease by 19.30% to 1,615,260. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Ireland down by 39.88% to €6.03 billions, with 23.60% decrease in number of card transactions.



  • As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Russia increase by 8.83% to 31,765,000. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Russia up by 43.23% to RUR1,036.1 billions, with 64.53% increase in number of card transactions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Romania increase by 3.34% to 2,301,640. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Romania rise by 17.80% to €1.31 billions, with 22.81% increase in number of card transactions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Bulgaria increase by 16.90% to 937,930. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Bulgaria rise by 76.60% to €0.83 billions, with 69.80% increase in number of card transactions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Greece increase by 6.34% to 3,112,090. However, the total credit cards spending for 2014 in Greece down by 4.07% to €4.01 billions, with 0.38% decrease in number of card transactions.

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Slovakia increase by 44.08% to 892,100. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Slovakia up by 24.05% to €0.98 billions, with 42.38% increase in number of card transactions

    As at 31 December 2014, the number of credit cards in Turkey increase by 0.30% to 57,006,000. The total credit cards spending for 2014 in Turkey up by 11.19% to TRY429.84 billions, with 3.76% increase in number of card transactions.
