The Chase PerfectCard® MasterCard® is ideal for those who frequently purchase gasoline and would like to earn rebates towards free gasoline. Through the reward program, you'll earn a 6% rebate on all gasoline purchases made with the card during the first 90 days, a 3% rebate on gas purchases thereafter, and a 1% rebate on all other purchases. The maximum rebate that cardholders can earn for gas purchases is $15 per month. The interest rate applied to purchases and balance transfers is reasonable, but the card uses a more costly method of calculating finance charges, and therefore, it is not ideal if you plan to carry a balance. However, there is a 0% introductory rate that applies to both purchases and balance transfers for up to six months, or 3 months for balance transfers only, depending on review of your application and credit history. There is no annual fee associated with this card. Several platinum benefits and services are also provided.

Now, I don't have to wait to accrue $50 in rewards and then wait two weeks for a check in the mail. I simply spend like usual and every month I get a "payment" from Chase. Pretty sweet if you ask me! AND THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY CREDITED TO YOUR STATEMENT at the end of each month. Yes, there is a limit of gas spending of $500/month but I will never hit that (even with my wife on the card also) I have been a member since '99 and have earned over $3,000 in free gas. I can't imagine a better rebate card than this. Who wants the hassle of miles for an airline with Blackout dates and having to plan 6 months in advance. Great card if you pay it off each month, which is very easy to do online. Just give them your checking account routing number. They will send you an e-mail when your bill is ready. Then just schedule an electronic payment a few days before the due date. Great online site. I only used customer service once, to ask for a limit increase. They just asked me how much I wanted and my limit was instantly raised, as was shown online. The 3% gas rebates is like knocking 6 cents of each gallon! I also appreciate the 1% rebate on other purchases. It's like knocking a point off our lousy 8.25% sales tax. Rebates are automaically credited. I have had it for almost a year, and always pay it off before the due date. I really like being able to get a 3% rebate at ANY gas station of my choosing. Be aware that you have to use it 9 times in the first year or else they will charge you an annual fee in the second year. I have some minor complaints. When calling in to get account info, the computerized voice does not give out the due date, unlike other credit card companies. I then have to hold to speak to a live person, just to get the date, however not until I have answered 2 or 3 or 4 questions to verify my identity, and my home phone number,and my work phone number,etc. Now another annoyance has just been added. When calling in, it asks for the last 4 digits of your card number several times before it will allow me to enter the complete account number. Apparently it is trying to match the card number to the home phone number on record for that account. Since I am calling on my cell phone, and DO NOT want them using ,saving, or posting my cell phone number, I guess I will have to put up with it. I had several Citi gas cards that did that last 4 digit nonsense, but they stopped doing it for some reason. I have not experienced anyone being unpleasant in customer service. The Chase Perfect Card is a great card for those individuals who pay off their balance every month and tend to use a lot of gasoline. The 3% gas rebate (6% teaser for the initial 90 days) is certainly helpful now that gas prices are up. The rebate is automatically applied to you next payment so you reap immediate rewards instead of waiting a year to cash in on your accumilated rebates. The only complaint I have is that the Chase website is not the most informative in the industry. The MBNA web site is much more intuitive and lets you see temporary authorizations against your card. Chase makes you wait until the transaction has cleared before you see it. Also there is no credit card protection system offered like Verified by VISA or ShopSafe." George, 7/13/2004 "Just use this credit card for gasoline purchases! This card gives a nice cushion of rebates if you use it at the gas station. What's nice is that this card gives you an attractive rebate that is credited to your account automatically next billing cycle. You can also use this card at any gas station and receive gas rebates. Many other gas rebate cards force you to use it at one gas brand. Get this card because at today's gas prices, you can use every bit of rebates. However, don't plan on using this card for any purchases other than gas station purchases, because if you need to dispute a transaction or make any type of change or request to your credit card account, the Chase people will somehow mess things up. The Chase email support group and call center group have totally dysfunctional infrastructures. Again, I repeat: Just use this credit card for gas station purchases and nothing else. That way, you won't need to dispute any purchase or you won't have the need to contact customer service." LBJ, 6/5/2004 "Excellent rewards program no questions asked. This card give you 3% rebates on gas purchases and 1% rebate on other purchases. THe good thing about this card is that you can receive your gas rebates at any gas station. Most gas rebate cards force you to just get one brand of gas. With today's gas prices so high, you should get this card right away. APR is also pretty competitive at 13.74% with a 0% offer for 9 months. However, Chase customer service seems very lacking. Get this card, and try to use it without problems. Chase is not good at handling problems. However, I feel this card's benefits far outweigh their incompetent customer service department. This is simply the best!"
