Your payment history is reported to the three major credit bureaus so you can begin to establish your credit. How do I get a secured card? The process is quick and simple! Just complete the secure online application and choose your method of payment. Once the funds are received and your information verified, we'll send you your new card along with a welcome kit. How can I qualify? Regardless of your credit or income, you can be approved for a Public Savings Bank secured credit card when you meet these general guidelines: a) you must be of legal age in the state of your residence, and b) you must reside in the United States and have a valid social security number. What will my credit limit be? You determine your own credit limit! You are guaranteed a credit limit equal to 100% of your deposit. The minimum deposit required is $300. In the event of non-payment, your Visa charges will be deducted from your collateral deposit and any remaining balance will be returned to you as soon as all charges have been cleared. How can I increase my credit limit? At any time after your account is opened, you may send in deposits to add to your collateral account. When your credit card account is current and not over-limit, each addition to your account will increase your credit limit dollar for dollar. Will my collateral account earn interest? At this time, the collateral accounts do not earn interest. However, the low cost of a Public Savings Bank secured credit card outweighs the little interest earned on the deposit. Can I withdrawal money from my collateral account without lowering my credit limit? Since this account acts as a collateral account for your secured credit card, you may not withdraw funds from it. However, you can take a cash advance according to the terms of the Cardholder Agreement. How do I close my Secured Credit Card Account? Your Credit Card balance must be paid in full before the account can be closed. It may take up to 10 weeks to process your request, so we may ensure that all items have cleared your account. Once all items are cleared we will promptly return your security deposit. |
Secured Cards. You will be required to open a Secured Credit Card Account (“collateral account”) at Public Savings Bank. When you apply and are approved for a Secured Card, you grant us a security interest in the funds, including any funds deposited following the effective date of this Agreement, in the Secured Credit Card Account you maintain with us and designate to secure repayment of your Card. You acknowledge that you specifically intend to grant us the security interest in all funds in the Secured Bank Account, that this security interest is an express condition for your Card and that all funds in your Secured Bank Account must remain on deposit during the term of this Agreement. This is your money, but you pledge it to secure repayment of all credit extended through this program. All funds in your Secured Credit Card Bank Account must remain on deposit during the term of this Agreement. These funds can not be used for any other purposes such as liens, collateral (for other accounts), etc. You agree to sign all applications and documents that we may request from time to time which evidence your grant and assignment to us of the security interest in the Secured Bank Account. If you do not pay your Card balance, or you or we decide to close your Card for any reason, you authorize us to, and you agree that we may, apply all of the funds in the Secured Bank Account to your outstanding Card balance. You acknowledge that we will not, and you authorize us not to, discharge or release our security interest in the Secured Bank Account until all Transactions, Finance Charges and fees and other charges contemplated by this Agreement have been processed and paid and you have otherwise performed all of your obligations under this Agreement. We will then discharge or release our security interest in the Secured Bank Account, and when your Secured Bank Account is closed, make available to you any funds remaining in the Secured Bank Account. If the outstanding Card balance exceeds the amount of funds in your Secured Bank Account, you will remain liable for any outstanding Card balances, including all fees or charges that may subsequently accrue, until the Card balance is paid in full. |
