As at 31 March 2017, the time deposits in FDIC-insured banks amounted to $1.644 trillion, an increase of $7 billion or 0.43% compares to $1.637 trillion 3 months ago as at 31 December 2016.
The total $1.644 trillion time deposits is made up of $1.443 trillion by commercial banks and $200.54 billion by savings institutions.

As at 31 December 2016, the demand deposits in FDIC-insured banks amounted to $1.637 trillion, a decrease of $25 billion or 1.50% compares to $1.662 trillion in the same period in year 2015.
The total $1.637 trillion time deposits is made up of $1.434 trillion by commercial banks and $202.15 billion by savings institutions.
As at 31 December 2015, the time deposits in FDIC-insured banks amounted to $1.662 trillion, a decrease of $43 billion or 2.52% compares to $1.705 trillion in the same period in year 2014.
The total $1.662 trillion time deposits is made up of $1.464 trillion by commercial banks and $198.20 billion by savings institutions.
As at 31 December 2014, the time deposits in FDIC-insured banks amounted to $1.705 trillion, an increase of $70 billion or 4.28% compares to $1.635 trillion in the same period in year 2013.
